In a statement it noted that work is continuing to advance the carbon dioxide injection pilot project, with a successful well work-over completed to enable a downhole survey in the AT-5X well.
The work is a precursor to future gas injection programmes.
“The company continues to advance the CO₂ pilot project,” said Leo Koot, Columbus executive chairman.
“We believe the CO₂ pilot project on Inniss-Trinity will give all parties a valuable insight into an alternative enhanced oil recovery mechanism for Trinidad and has the potential to transform oil & gas operations in the Inniss-Trinity field and in similar fields in Trinidad.”
Columbus noted that the preferred downhole completion design has been determined to be operationally viable.
Additionally, the partners have identified and successfully isolated the key reservoir interval for the first CO₂ injectivity test.
