Providence Resources PLC (LON:PVR) has confirmed the mobilisation of a survey vessel at the Barryroe project off the coast of Ireland.

In a short update, the AIM-listed energy firm said the vessel, M/V Kommandor, will clear seabed debris and undertake an environmental baseline and habitat assessment site survey over the Barryroe field.

The survey is expected to last up to three weeks depending on operating conditions, Providence said, adding that subject to the receipt of a US$9mln loan from its farm-out partner APEC it would be able to extend the survey to cover more locations up from the current minimum of two.

Barryroe is 40% owned and operated by Providence, through its Exola subsidiary.
