The forum will gather 200 senior decision makers from the technology, entertainment, sport, and esports industries to explore opportunities and challenges in the space, Gfinity said, adding that the company would also be hosting a Broadcast Disruptor forum on 10 October to provide attendees with insight into new broadcasting technologies.
The forum is the first time The Sports Business Summit, which brings together 1,800 directors of companies in the sporting industry, has hosted a dedicated esports event as part of its programme.
“We are thrilled to be part of this prestigious event, which allows us to showcase the role we are playing in igniting an esports revolution”, said Gfinity’s global brand and marcomms officer John Clarke.
“We are looking forward to engaging with rights holders, listening to brands and discussing new ways in which we can help design, develop and deliver esports solutions for them, creating new revenue streams in the virtual world. The fact that there is a dedicated esports forum at Leaders Week this year is further evidence of the growing interest in esports, and its enormous potential”, he added.
In mid-afternoon trading on Friday, Gfinity’s shares were 2.7% lower at 3.7p.
